Before the leaders’ retreat on February 12th, WWF EU, Friends of the Earth Europe, and the European Grandparents for Climate gathered outside the retreat venue in Alden Biesen, Belgium, to protest Europe’s irresponsible policies.
These organizations strongly reject deregulation measures that sacrifice public health, social justice, and environmental safety for the benefit of companies and political allies, still choosing fossil fuels as main energy source.
EU governments must prioritize the well-being of citizens over short-term economic gains and resist pressure from corporate lobbies by defending citizens and committing to protecting nature and the environment.
Grandparents for Climate were there because they want the political decisions taken to protect a world where their grandchildren can live safely and in dignity.
