In September 2023 The Nordic Council of Ministers invited various organizations and groups to Reykjavík Iceland to connect with older people in the Nordic countries, who are active in climate issues. The aim was to discuss how the Nordic governments can support older people’s engagement on this particular topic.

The project and its main outcomes were presented by the Icelandic organizers to the climate ministers of the Nordic countries at a meeting in the Norwegian Parliament in Oslo at the beginning of November 2023.

The Icelandic Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Climate had a short video made from the seminar: Seniors and Climate Issues .

The participants went home from the seminar rejuvenated, both by having visited hot springs, but most by the promise of closer cooperation amongst various grandparents’ climate action groups, both in the Nordic countries and in Europe as a whole.
