Our Grandchildren’s Climate has for a long time been involved in lobbying against the development of Norwegian Equinor’s Rosebank oil field in the UK sector of the North Sea. Although the development was delayed by the Scottish Courts earlier because Equinor had not sufficiently considered Scope 3 (indirect) greenhouse gas emissions, Equinor has now re-applied, and a final UK Government decision is expected shortly. We fear the worst; the emissions would be massive.

Our friends in the Norwegian Grandparents’ Climate Campaign are also constantly lobbying for an end to North Sea oil exploration. On both sides of the North Sea we continue with our public protest actions against Rosebank and other oil fields.
