On Europa Day the 9th of May Finnish Grandparents for Climate invited friends and supporters to join their weekly Friday demonstration.
Our goal was to get 100 grandparents or seniors on the stairs of our parliament demanding better climate policies in Europe and stronger action from our own government to promote it.
We tried to make the atmosphere as positive and encouraging as possible even if the matter is serious and urgent.
We exceeded our goal together with Activist Grannies and our supporters!
Over one hundred seniors at the stairs sang familiar children songs about nature together, accompanied by the accordion and they shouted: “What do we want? Climate action! When? Now, now, now!”
Our MP-godmothers and -fathers responded our invitation to come and meet us. They told to have heard our voice inside the House of Parliament. We got new supporters to our important message.
Now we just wait for the all-important actions.
