Country update from Belgium: Climate March 5 October 2025

Nearly 30,000 people took to the streets of Brussels on Sunday 5 October 2025, including 500 members of Grootouders voor het Klimaat (GvK) and Grands-parents pour le Climat (GPC) who were wearing white jackets. This year we emphasised the need to shift subsidies from the oil industry to the social sector and the ecological transition. Our aim was to get money, policies, and mentalities to change. Many protesters showed that their priority is indeed the future of the planet. Acting, singing, and dancing accentuated the lively side of our march.
