The election of the best climate books for children and young people of the last two years took place in this ‘Books Temple’ (formerly the Post Office). This election is organised every year by a working group of the Dutch Grandparents for Climate.

In her opening words for this year’s edition, coordinator Anja Wouters said: “These books must be fun, but they must also convey the clear message that we must clean and preserve a livable earth. We celebrate the strength of stories that inspire children to care for our nature.”

The programme that Anja had organised for the day was very entertaining: the Dutch-Hungarian speaker Karel Baracs presented an inspiring story for all ages in his unique style.
The choir of the Grandparents of Utrecht-Houten, led by singer-songwriter Matthias Konecny (“the Blue Dog”), connected all the programme parts and was expanded for the occasion to include Grandparents from Hilversum, Leiden and Wageningen.
