There was a big climate chain-demonstration in Germany held on Saturday October 3rd from around 12:00 till 12:30. People gathered across Germany in various cities and the Omas for Future also joined.

For 10 minutes we stood in silence commemorating those we lost in wars and the climate crisis, then holding up a blank piece of paper, underlining a new political and societal start.

In total there were about 20,000 people involved, 25 km long. Personally I joined with the Omas for Future regional groups Bad Kreuznach and Nahe Glan in Mainz to create a chain around the Christuskirche, where the GAIA installation by Luke Jerram was shown till October 4th.

This underlined for us our goal: Protecting the earth, which shows more water than land.

But is doesn’t stop there. Every month there is a Germany-wide meeting to take this further.
